Be THE Voice is a peer-to-peer style program which is designed to help the student bystander find their “voice” when witnessing a situation that involves bullying. – Debbie Cwalina, Co-founder

Last fall, members of the Roswell Rotary Club kicked off a program to equip students with the tools to fight one of the most common forms of violence for young people, bullying.

The nonprofit service organization offers the anti-bullying initiative Be THE Voice That Stops Bullying through Interact, a Rotary-sponsored club for teens in schools.

Rotarians Deborah Baker Cwalina and Michael Schoppenhorst created the 12-week program that focuses on empowering bystanders to intervene to deescalate a bullying situation or distract or deter the bully. Nine Roswell public and private schools with students of all ages are participating in the program, which promotes kindness and inclusion.
